Grid-Down Battery Backup
A grid down battery backup refers to a system of batteries that provides backup power in the event of a power outage or failure in the main electrical grid. The battery backup system is designed to provide a reliable source of power to essential electrical devices and systems during an interruption of the main electrical supply, thus ensuring continuous operation and protection of valuable equipment and data. These systems can vary in size and capacity, depending on the specific requirements and needs of the user.
There are multiple options on the market, but today we will focus on a new offering, the Anker PowerHouse 767.

The Anker PowerHouse 767 main standalone unit has a capacity of 2048Wh. If you purchase the Expansion Battery the capacity is boosted to 4096Wh. Using the XT60 DC Inputs, the 767 can accept up to 1000 watts of solar power (limited to 60v DC input).
The Anker PowerHouse 767 has the ability to operate as a UPS with a 20ms switchover when the grid goes down.
Safety Suggestions
The Anker PowerHouse 767 DC input has a 1 to 5 parallel splitter that utilizes XT60 connectors. There is a potential for shock if solar panels are connected and a finger is placed across the bare input pins. For safety reasons, you should cover those pins with plug covers when not in use or replace the adapter with a XT60 to MC4 adapter. If you use the XT60 to MC4 adapter and wish to maintain the ability to connect 5 solar panels, you can grab a 1 to 5 MC4 splitter.
Runtimes
